"Our best Fortuna Cabernet Sauvignon ever, without exception for the 100 Parker point 2010." -Peter Heitz, Winemaker

This wine is an exuberant, pure expression of joy. It is full of energy, vibrant and fresh, and possesses a rare combination of delicate finesse and driving focus, like the taut muscles of a sprinter's legs ready to explode off the block.

The alluvial fan of red volcanic soil from this sunny, gently sloping site at the edge of the Oakville Bench produces signature notes of bright Rainier Cherries, fall spice, and fine grain black tea tannins. At first open, the wine beckons, asking to be visited again and again. It's approachable and enticing now, but will evolve to offer even more intrigue and interest with age.

praise for 2013 fortuna cabernet sauvignon

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard is another candidate for perfection with a few more years of bottle age. Inky bluish/purple with wonderfully sweet blue and black fruits and floral notes. The wood seems perfectly integrated, the wine full-bodied and multi-dimensional, extremely long and pure. This is an unbelievable effort in this great vintage and should prove to be a future legacy wine for Turnbull Wine Cellars. Forget it for 5-6 years and drink it over the following 30+."

-Robert Parker, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. 99 Points.

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna is lifted, silky and nicely textured, with lovely red fruit, bright floral notes and terrific overall balance. This is a decidedly gracious, feminine style. All the elements fuse together in a supple, open-knit Cabernet Sauvignon that can be enjoyed now or cellared. This is an especially delicate, silky Cabernet Sauvignon."

-Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 93 Points.

"This is notably rich and generous, with lavish dark berry fruit, mocha oak shadings, crushed rock and gravel notes, ending with fine-grained tannic grip. Shows impressive proportion and refinement."

-James Laube, Wine Spectator93 points.
