Our 2020 Leopoldina is a deeply layered wine, and one that fascinates with wonderfully balanced yet perfectly contrasting elements of lift and opulence. Aromatics of Boysenberry mousse, and purity of black berries command attention. Athletic sinew melds with a pronounced dark Bing cherries, wild blackberries and hints of garrigue. Freshness and ripeness persist throughtout, highlighting an intrinsic lifted opulence that carries through the finish.

It's almost floral, marked by great freshness and verve, tart black cherries and a touch of cassis on the nose, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, streamlined and remarkably elegant. It's not the biggest, most expansive wine you'll find on the eastern side of the valley, but it exhibits a fine sense of balance, adding a hint of licorice on the finish.”
